About Me

As you have noticed, we made lots of parts for this project ....

I have loads of things to line up and make, while the body is off I’ll make some new rubber mounts, that’s right make them. I’m not cheap just creative and talented . The few following pic’s show the rubber mounts being made , I have a connection for good grade material for such applications and called my friend and BAM ! It was here in 2 hours.  FREE B !

Cutting the rubber doughnuts turned out pretty good, I just used a staple gun with 5/16"x3/4" and set them on a 2x4 in the vise, blew  the center holes out with an end mill, and cut the outer section with a hole saw with no center bit. O yeah, had to use soapy water to lube/cool the bit otherwise it looked like I did a burn out in the shop. Got all the pieces need done in about 2 hours. the cost was just my time :o)

Started getting the body ready to go back on the frame now that the rubber gizmos are done. I’ll have to run our and get all new grade8 bolts ................1hour later I returned with bolts but no one around here had any structural washers that I needed to mount the body. Guess I’ll make up a circle burning jig and use the plasma cutter after I mark and drill out the centers. It will work ! The jig worked out well it was a piece of oka with a hole for the plasma cutter tip and a hole drilled for the pivot point which I used a 8 penny nail , after I cut them I chucked them in the lathe and crossed drilled the holes.. nothing fancy but the washers were all cut in about one hour and that’s the kind of washers one needs to mount a body to the frame. I have seen guys stack fender washers and when they tighten up the bolts they cup, that’s not good and later down the road you’ll have lose body mount bolts. "Just my 2 cents worth"
